At ROC Outdoor Adventure, we aim to provide scheduled and bespoke walks that are carefully researched and planned, with the Welsh countryside, wildlife and landscape at the heart of all that we do. We are sensitive to the need to protect the environment and actively promote sustainable practices that will help protect precious landscapes for future generations.
We are passionate about promoting walking as not only offering sustenance for the heart, mind and soul, but also that through encouraging walking, the least carbon intensive way to travel, the environmental impact of our groups is kept to an absolute minimum.
We will always advise our groups to car share to find ways to lessen their impact on the environment and above all, to leave no trace. Where it is necessary to travel by means other than on foot, we encourage the use of public transport.
We aim to balance the environmental impact of travelling with the immense benefits sustainable tourism can bring to rural destinations and to local economies, and to support local businesses wherever possible. We focus our walks on areas that are as much as possible ‘off the beaten track’, providing authentic experiences, low impact on the environment, great for the heart, body and soul and experiencing good, clean air, exercise, companionship and natural beauty as well as learning new skills, facts and new experiences.
Education
Our qualified mountain leader will offer information through commentaries on the countryside and rural life, its folklore, traditions and history. This way we support the local areas and businesses and we encourage people to be aware of the unique value of the natural environment.
Our qualified Mountain Leader ensures that we share knowledge and facts about the local environment and about the fragility of the countryside. We offer learnings on how hey can help protect it and observe the Country-side Code.
At ROC Outdoor Adventure, it is very much about promoting an appreciation of nature, flora and fauna, geology, geography and ecosystems. Always more than happy to recommend and share knowledge of local customs, cuisines, businesses and places to eat, stay and visit, we actively support the areas that we visit.
Routes and Group Sizes
We aim to restrict the size of our groups to 12 or less to minimise our impact on the local countryside, and actively promote leave no trace.
